ribbonsforkellsey, inc. began as a family goal Kellsey was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2007 and her family set a goal to distribute 500 ribbons in November of 2011, 100 for every year since her diagnosis. The family had found that their was a stigma associated with epilepsy and they wanted to do their part to increase awareness! Noone should fear Epilepsy; they should not have to hide, they have to be brave! Kellsey's family could be pitiful or they could be powerful, they chose powerful!
ribbonsforkellsey, inc. began opening doors and increasing awareness worldwide. In just that one short month they distributed over 2,000 ribbons. They were making a difference and knew that they must continue their mission to increase awareness for epilepsy.
The 1st Candy Bar Bingo event was held in February of 2012 and far exceeded capacity. The 2nd Candy Bar Bingo event was even larger! Candy Bar Bingo is now an annual event held the last Saturday of every February. The support of family, friends and the community has created an even larger mission and we are so excited about our future! ribbonsforkellsey, inc. is a qualified 501 (c)(3) organization and ran 100% by volunteers!
In 2016 ribbonsforkellsey expanded our organization by adding the chapter CARE - Creating Autism Resources for Everyone. We have distributed weighted blankets and other resources that will help them thrive. in their everyday lives. We are excited about what the future holds for CARE and expanding our organization to helping so many! We held our 1st Quarter Auction in August of 2017 and are very excited to make a difference in children living with Autism

In August of 2013 ribbonsforkellsey lost a very important member of our board. He was not only our Vice President but he was the father of five small children and the husband of our very own board member Kelly Caccamo. Joe Caccamo was the voice on the other end of the phone as Brandi held Kellsey during seizures. He was an excellent PA that went above and beyond for his patients. To honor Joe we would like to announce "The Joe Caccamo Scholarship Fund". It will be granted yearly to a college bound student that lives with Epilepsy. We love and miss you Joe!
